Monica graduated in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on Antiquities in Ravenna. She has been involved in many archaeological digs in Emilia Romagna and has worked with the Centre of Archaeological Operations in Ravenna, the Ravenna Archaeology Group (of which she is former Chairwoman), the University of Bologna, CSR and TECNE. Monica's expertise has taken her to Macedonia where she was awarded a grant to excavate and restore Byzantine frescos. She has also worked on various archaeological exhibitions at the Museo Nazionale in Ravenna and has held teaching courses at the Museum of San Pietro in Campiano near Ravenna, the Roman Ship Museum in Comacchio, the Roman Villa in Russi and the Ancient Port of Classis.

Brunella has a degree in French language and literature, with an award-winning thesis on Marcel Proust at the French Institute of the University of Bologna. She has taught French in several High Schools in the Ravenna area and has been working for many years with the Italian-French Cultural Association, where she was former Secretary. Brunella is one of the founders of the “Giovanna Bosi Maramotti” Adult University in Ravenna, where for a decade she was Director of Courses. Presently she is teaching Italian and Foreign Literature at the University.

After getting a First Class Honours degree at the Faculty of National Heritage Conservation, Nadia then specialized in the study of stone materials and mosaics used in works of art. She has worked on various excavation sites in Italy and abroad and then she has worked for the organization of cultural events, including exhibitions in Ravenna and Milan. As a consequence of her passion for spreading the knowledge of local heritage, she successfully took the tour guide exams in 1994 and at the moment is complimenting this job by teaching History of Art.
